A Day at The Forge

One day, whole formation.

Serious yet joyful, disciplined yet lively, reverent yet fully engaged — a day that holds together Mass, prayer, study, science, practical work, and brotherhood.

Exact times and activities may be refined before launch. The rhythm below is the shape we are building toward.

7:00

Mass at Holy Family

The day begins with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass at Holy Family.

7:45

Snack and Welcome

Boys gather after Mass for a simple snack, welcome, and fellowship before the day begins.

8:00

Morning Prayer and Reflection

The boys begin together in prayer and reflection, preparing their minds and hearts for the work ahead.

8:30

Classical Academic Course

A classical course taught by a male Oxrose Academy instructor, emphasizing careful reading, disciplined reasoning, philosophy, logic, and clear expression in pursuit of truth.

9:30

Activity Break

A full thirty-minute break for movement, refreshment, conversation, and brotherhood.

10:00

Science Course

A science course taught by a qualified local tutor, rooted in wonder, observation, order, and the intelligibility of creation.

11:00

Break and Transition

A short transition from academic work into the practical formation portion of the day.

11:15

Practical Formation

A block of roughly one and a quarter to one and a half hours led by men from the community. Activities may include hands-on work, outdoor skills, craftsmanship, fishing, kayaking, gardening, leadership, financial literacy, or other practical disciplines depending on mentor, season, and opportunity. A shared meal, when appropriate, becomes an extension of the classroom — a place where gratitude, conversation, and brotherhood are cultivated alongside the habits of attentive listening and thoughtful speech.

1:00

Closing Prayer and Dismissal

The day concludes with gratitude and prayer, giving thanks for the gifts received and preparing each boy to return home with renewed purpose and joy.

One Day Ordered Toward Formation

The shape of the day is simple: it begins at the altar and ends in prayer, with study, movement, and honest work between.
